So as we all take a moment to celebrate Earth and all her beauties, lets take a moment to learn a lesson from one of her most interesting creatures: The Ostrich.
Most people believe that when an ostrich is in danger, it will bury its head in the sand like a 2 year old pretending that if they can’t see the danger then it isn’t really there.
That is also how many business owners in America treat the threat of lawsuits. They convince themselves that there is no real threat and tell themselves that as long as they don’t look at the problem it will just go away. But by burying your head in the sand and playing ignorant, all you are doing is exposing yourself to be torn apart when the lawsuit does come. It is time for our business men and women to face reality, which is that 1 out of every 3 business owners in the U.S. will face a lawsuit in their lifetime. It is time for us to start being pro-active in protecting our businesses and our livelihoods.
Don’t wait for the lawsuit to come before you learn how to protect yourself, there are simple things you can do now to protect yourself later. Oh and by the way about the ostrich, turns out that whole head burying thing is a myth. … But when an adult ostrich is threatened, it attacks with a clawed foot that delivers a kick powerful enough to kill a lion. – See more at: http://animals.sandiegozoo.org/animals/ostrich#sthash.4Hf0ypFY.dpuf “
So I guess maybe we SHOULD be looking at the ostrich as an example of how to face lawsuits.
